The consortium will incorporate principles of gender mainstream throughout the various elements of the project. To this end, every effort will be made to ensure that the activities contribute to the promotion of gender equality, and steps will be taken to ensure that none of the activities within the programme contributes to gender inequality. The Coordinator will be pro-active in promoting gender-equality throughout the course of the project. In particular, special measures will be taken through the recruitment process. To ensure a gender balance in the project and work towards narrowing the gap between the genders in research, should two ESR applicants be found to be equally qualified during the recruitment process, the preference will be given to the one that will balance the gender in the entire Network.
One of the partners (Prof. P. Walton, UOY) is a leading international authority on gender equality and will advise the consortium wherever needed on gender equality practice.
