Research
The OXYTRAIN research programme is grouped into 7 WPs addressing the specific research objectives described above, providing the project framework. WPs 1 to 4 focus on the main research areas, WP5 includes the main training events, and WP6 and WP7 cover the management and dissemination tasks.
Research will be performed through 3 different areas: (i) mechanism, (ii) engineering and (iii) application, on 4 different oxygenases classes. For each separate oxygenase class, a dedicated subgroup of partners each with 3 ESRs will focus their research, addressing the most pressing issues concerning the specific oxygenase class. The distribution from mechanism to application is linked with the current knowledge for each class. In WP1 to 3 we have a group of academic and non-academic partners since there are already possibilities to study the application of these enzymes in an industrial context. Regarding WP4, we only have students recruited by academic partners as we need to improve our understanding of the molecular functioning of these enzymes, before considering possible applications.
